ENGINEERINGTOOLS / INFORMATION
Privacy Policy
What EngineeringTools stores locally and how optional analytics and advertising are controlled.
Calculator data
Calculator inputs are processed in your browser and are not intentionally transmitted by this application or saved to a database. No user accounts or server-side calculation services are implemented. Inputs are held in page memory and reset when the page is reloaded.
Local preferences
Your browser may store a light/dark theme preference under the key “theme”. If optional analytics is configured, it also stores your analytics choice under “analytics-consent”. You can clear these values using your browser’s site data controls. These preferences do not store calculator inputs.
Hosting and access logs
When deployed, the hosting provider receives normal connection information such as IP address, requested URL and browser details. Its logging and retention practices depend on the hosting account and provider. This local version is not a claim that a public hosting service is already active.
Optional Google Analytics
Analytics is disabled unless a valid measurement ID is configured. When configured, this application asks visitors to accept or decline before loading Google Analytics. Google may then receive usage, device, cookie and network information under its own policies. The footer provides analytics preferences when this feature is enabled. Declining does not block calculators. The operator must review applicable legal requirements, retention settings and the accuracy of this policy before enabling analytics.
Optional advertising
No advertisements or advertising scripts are loaded in the default site. Advertising requires an actual configured publisher ID, approval flag, ad slot integration and an appropriate consent signal. Before enabling it, the operator must update this policy to identify advertising partners, data uses, cookie practices and applicable consent or opt-out mechanisms. A certified consent-management platform may be required; the analytics prompt is not an advertising CMP.
External links and contact
Reference links lead to third-party websites with their own privacy practices. If you email the operator using a configured address, your email provider and the operator process that correspondence. No email address or retention promise is invented here. See Contact for the currently configured reporting channel.
Operator details and changes
The operator’s legal identity, jurisdiction, effective date and any required privacy contact details must be supplied before public launch. This policy describes the default implementation and must be reviewed whenever hosting, analytics, advertising or data practices change.
